During March 22 -23, Microsoft’s Data Insights Summit was a huge success. With every seat filled and hundreds watching live streaming from home, the conference revealed several important must knows for the BI world, including information about powerful custom visualizations.
Sand Dance
This visualization displays every data element as a “grain of sand” with animated transitions between visual representations. The sand dance visual is a great way to understand how the parts of a whole change throughout the transition of visual representation.
LineDot Chart
The LineDot chart is a great visualization for watching your data change over time, including a play axis for users to customize the time for which they would like view the data. In addition, the dot size represents data points where their size is relative to the amount of data it represents (more data equals bigger dots).
