Feature Focus
Trend lines-
You can now enable trend lines on scatter, column, bubble, area, combo, and line charts making it easier for users to see the trajectory of the trends in their data. To enable trend lines, select an acceptable visualization and then navigate to the formatting tab below the visualizations section. Select “On” for trend lines.
Data Model Synonyms-
Power BI Desktop now lets you add or edit synonyms for the data model. This feature will greatly improve your experience with Q&A on PowerBI.com. To view, add, or edit synonyms, navigate to the relationships section then select modeling – > synonyms.
Power BI Template files-
This feature will allow users to access the Power BI data model, queries, and report but not the actual data. This could be useful in some situations that require data anonymization. To use this feature, select file – > export -> Power BI template which will generate a .pbit file.
Conditional Columns-
The last feature we would like to highlight in this post is conditional columns. Previously, if a user wanted to implement categories or group ranges according to numeric values in a calculated column, knowledge of the DAX programming language was required. Now, users can easily add conditional columns by setting rules and output values through the interface.
